Role Overview:
We are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to work on our Surgical Orthopaedic Ward to be based at the prestigious Cromwell Hospital. This hospital receives both UK and international patients and is committed to providing the highest quality healthcare for patients.
What you’ll do
As a Health Care Assistant, you will provide a holistic care to surgical patients pre / post-surgery in a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio ward. You will work closely with the ward nurses and be a patient advocate helping to deliver exceptional care. You will also:
- Welcome and receive patients, visitors and colleagues to the unit.
- Accompany patients (including their friends and relatives) between departments.
- Assist patients with eating, drinking, patient hygiene and elimination procedures.
- Assist with observation and collection of specimens.
- Participate in clinical audit
- Have an understanding of cultural needs.
What you’ll bring
- Experience on a ward or outpatient setting
- NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent - Essential
- NVQ Level 3 (Direct Patient Care) - Desirable
- Good communicator/interpersonal skills.
