EMS Healthcare is recruiting for a Project Ambassador to play a pivotal role in engaging with the public to encourage them to take part in an important and exciting health awareness campaign.
As an integral part of the Outreach team at EMS Healthcare, you will be responsible for engaging directly with the local community to raise awareness, inform, and educate people about the key elements of the campaign. You will encourage participation and signpost individuals to where they can access further information.
This role will involve working in and around the North East London area. Days and times are to be agreed, but are likely to include Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The project will initially run for a 26-week period starting week commencing 21st July (exact date TBC), with a two-week break after the first 13 weeks, and it will exclude the two-week Christmas break.
Reporting into the Outreach Project Manager, you will focus on raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of Skin Cancer (during the first 13 weeks), followed by Prostate Cancer across North East London. You should have a passion for face-to-face communication and the ability to connect with people from within the target demographic, driving awareness and engagement with the campaign.

North East London area including: Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest
City of London, Havering, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham
Role & Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong knowledge of the subject matter to be able to confidently discuss with and provide information to the general public (full training will be provided).
- Approach and engage directly with the public to create awareness and increase participation.
- Answer any questions that may arise and where required signpost for further information.
- Actively engage with the target cohort to drive participation across the key groups.
- Encourage people within the target cohort to book an appointment to take part in the programme.
- Signpost members of the public to correct access points as directed by the campaign messaging.
- Be enthusiastic & polite in all communications.
- Take a proactive approach to each working day and be able to assist with any operational circumstances that could arise on the day.
- Communicate verbally in a positive and professional manner.
- Providing regular feedback to the Senior Project Ambassador throughout the duration of the project to aid the completion of weekly reports.
- Work with the Senior Study Ambassador to deliver the campaign to meet the agreed project KPIs.
- Encourage patients to attend GP appointments if worried about symptoms through enthusiastic, clear and concise messaging.
- Perform administrative duties as defined within the campaign protocol.
- Maintain equipment accountability (iPad etc. as required).
- Any other reasonable task as requested by your line manager.
Experience
- Experience of working within a healthcare or medical environment or brand is desirable but not essential (full training will be provided).
- Experience of performing a similar public facing engagement role.

Working Hours
- Eight hours per day, three days per week, including Saturdays.
Travel
- It is your responsibility to arrange travel to and from the event location.
- 25 days holiday increasing to 28 after 5 years service
