Home Claims Desk Technical Lead – Salary circa £45,000-£55,000

A bit about the job:
You’ll be part of our Home Claims Operation, leading the technical direction of our Desk Claims Teams. That includes Home Desk Consultants and Home Project Managers handling building claims up to £50k.
You’ll guide the team on all technical matters including day to day technical referrals, making sure we deliver great service and manage costs effectively. You’ll also work closely with our people leads to support and upskill the team. You’ll also help shape how we work – improving systems, processes and communication, while keeping a close eye on performance and customer outcomes.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Strong technical knowledge of Home Claims, including philosophies, standards, and policy interpretation.
- Advanced understanding of claims handling, including policy coverage, validation, fraud detection, and the ability to approve or challenge scopes in line with policy standards and best practices.
- Coaching experience with a track record of improving performance and capability.
- Ideally BDMA accredited. HND/HNC in Building Studies or accreditation to CII, RICS, CIOB, CILA (desirable) – or equivalent experience.
- Customer Focused mindset, strong communication skills with a talent for building relationships, managing stakeholder expectations, handling conflicts, and effectively resolving problems.
