About the role & team:
In June 2024 we completed a £300m fundraising process (£130m debt) for the construction of our first full scale plant in Manchester with new investors including Goldman Sachs, Centrica and the UK National Wealth Fund. In September 2025 we will complete a £128m fundraise for the construction a 2nd plant in Hunterston, Scotland. £70m of debt being provided by existing investors and the Scottish National Investment Bank. Over the next year we will also be seeking further funding for development opportunities in Australia, the UK and Ireland.
We are looking for an experienced financial modeller with an accountancy qualification to join the Finance team. To date we have been supported by outsourced banking trained financial modellers with an investment focus, we now need more detailed modelling to manage complex intercompany cash flows, interest payments and working capital. As we move into the operational phase in August 2026, the modeller will need to integrate accurate revenue projections and model downside scenarios.
Two other modellers are employed in the business, 5 days a week in the office, a specialist revenue modeller with an engineering background in the Business Development Team, and an equity and valuations modeller reporting to the Head of Strategy, Partnerships and Capital. These roles have a different focus, but all 3 modellers should share best practice and align on common inputs.
