We have a vacancy for a fixed term, part-time (30 hours across Tuesday to Friday) Business Support Assistant, whose primary role will be to support the work of the East Cornwall Health Visiting and School Nursing Teams, supporting clinical colleagues and ensuring timely communications with service users and partner agencies.  This role will involve a combination of office/home working.

The successful applicant will need to be able to deliver or assist in the delivery of a range of administrative tasks which will include the use of spreadsheets, mail merging of documents, inputting and updating of information on a Case Management system, diary management, arranging meetings, note-taking and booking training for staff.  This role is very varied but full support and training will be given.

Whilst the location/work base for this role will be specified, our evolving ways of working means that you may be required to work remotely (e.g. from home/other locations) and also have a presence at a council office and/or a Family Hub within East Cornwall.  We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.

What you’ll need to succeed:

Applicants should have 4 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent, including English and Maths and have excellent communication and keyboard skills.  Experience of working in an office environment and undertaking the tasks as detailed above, would be an advantage.  Please detail your experience within a supporting statement.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise appropriately with all levels of staff, service users and other agencies.  A professional approach applying discretion and diplomacy is essential.  We also require flexibility and the ability to enjoy the challenge of working as part of a busy team, producing good quality, accurate outputs whilst often working to deadlines.
