Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, and customer-focused Catering & Barista Assistant to support the Chef Manager in delivering a high-quality, in-house catering service to Cubic employees. This role is central to creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our team through excellent food, beverages, and service.

Key Responsibilities

Barista & Beverage Service

  • Prepare and serve coffee and other beverages to order, following Cubic’s quality standards and customer preferences

  • Maintain expert knowledge of our coffee offerings and educate customers on available options

  • Ensure safe, hygienic, and efficient preparation of drinks

Customer Service & Front of House

  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a professional and personable approach

  • Take orders and process payments accurately, upselling where appropriate

  • Be well-informed about all menu items, with a strong focus on allergens and dietary requirements

  • Maintain a clean, presentable, and inviting front-of-house and seating area

Kitchen & Operational Support

  • Assist with food preparation and kitchen duties as directed by the Chef Manager

  • Follow all Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations

  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks across both front and back of house

  • Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed to standard

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Barista (certification or hands-on experience)

  • Strong customer service skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude

  • High attention to detail and cleanliness

  • Ability to work independently during quieter periods

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or front-of-house environment

  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety practices in food service

Desirable

  • Food handling or Health & Safety certification

  • Formal Barista training or certification
