Location: Penkridge, Stafford

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Standard 9:00am – 5:00pm, flexible working scheme)

Holidays: 28 days rising to 32 days per year, including bank holidays


We are seeking a Finance Administrator to join a well-established team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with experience in credit control, invoicing, and financial administration. You will play a key role in supporting the finance team and contributing to the smooth running of daily financial operations.



Key Responsibilities


Invoicing (approx. 40%)
  • Process around 540 invoices per month for regular and varied customers.
  • Follow documented customer-specific processes to ensure accuracy.
  • Liaise with customer services to obtain required information for invoicing.
  • Check orders and supporting information before issuing invoices.
  • Work within the company’s job management and accounting systems (Sage).

Credit Control (approx. 40%)
  • Manage the company’s debtors’ book using Sage Line 50.
  • Chase outstanding debts promptly and efficiently.
  • Resolve any invoice queries and maintain strong customer relationships.
Engineer Expenses & Allowances (approx. 10%)
  • Process engineer expense claims and prepare summary reports for reimbursement.
  • Reconcile weekly overnight allowances against actual usage and prepare monthly deduction schedules for payroll.

Other Accounts Support (approx. 10%)
  • Assist with purchase invoice processing and posting to Sage.
  • Reconcile engineer timesheets and assist with payroll administration.
  • Support the team with general accounts queries and provide holiday cover as required.


Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in credit control and financial administration.
  • Strong numerical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Essential: Proficient in Sage accounts software and confident with database and spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially over the phone.
  • Methodical, organised, and able to meet deadlines independently or as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
