Part-time role working Fridays 7am to 8pm.
Hygiene Operatives will work to high, demanding standards. They will be responsible for delivering a clean and food safe environment, ensuring safe and cost-effective practices are adopted. They will also share their specialist knowledge with others to continuously improve efficiencies:
- To clean factory equipment and areas according to the agreed method detailed on the Hygiene Instruction cards; It is the responsibility of the Hygiene Team to ensure that all equipment and processing areas of the site are cleaned to a good standard, and where required are sanitised and free from contamination at all times, following the authorised cleaning methods and all safety procedures, for example hygiene lock-off’s.
- To complete the hygiene schedules and sign off sheets and ensure these are correctly filled in and signed as required once a clean in complete.
- To ensure that all PPE is correctly worn, and safe methods of work are followed and implemented. This includes following equipment lock-off procedures at all times.
- It is the responsibility of the hygiene team, whilst cleaning is in progress, to ensure the safety of staff and visitors passing through the area, they are working in, by adequately placing warning signs or cordoning off areas as required.
- Ensure that cleaning chemicals are handled correctly and in a safe manner according to the agreed procedures. All chemicals when not in use must be stored correctly and safely.
- All waste to be disposed of correctly using the proper waste disposal procedure.
- Support the production team in cleaning at the weekend. Ensure that the correct methods are being used and that a good standard is maintained.
Essential Qualifications:
- Numeracy and literacy skills
- Food hygiene training to level 2
- Effective time management skills
- Organisational ability, admin skills, and understanding of HACCP
- Previous experience working within a factory Hygiene team.
Desirable:
- Chemical awareness training
- Experience within an FMCG environment
