We’re seeking a proactive and professional Legal Secretary to provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to our Court of Protection and Personal Injury Trust team.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide full secretarial support to include word processing, regular and accurate filing, archiving, faxing, emailing, photocopying.
  • Confident handling of telephone enquiries, diary and meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and expense claims.
  • Use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and legal software including Aderant, Big Hand, Liberate, iManage, and Oyez.
  • Drafting routine documents and correspondence.
  • Maintain and update filing systems, both electronic and paper-based and in compliance with Lexcel guidance.
  • To maintain time recording on all client matters and to arrange for the chargeable time recorded to be put into the firm's computerised time recording system daily.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for clients and third parties with professionalism and discretion.
  • Supporting colleagues through holiday/sickness cover and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this role you must have a minimum of 2 years secretarial experience within professional services.

You must also be proficient in Microsoft applications such as Teams, Word and Excel.

Additional skills and attributes:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail
  • Competent numeric skills including a basic understanding of accounts and billing.
  • Able to use own initiative and take responsibility for a task to ensure that work is completed to a high standard (to include developing and introducing efficiencies and more effective ways of working).
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise, anticipate, plan-ahead and problem solve.
  • Adaptable, willing and capable of working flexibly and as part of a team.
