We are seeking a diligent and skilled Maintenance Team Member to join our team. As our Maintenance Team Member, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel facilities are well-kept, safe, and operating efficiently. This role requires hands-on work with a variety of tasks, from routine preventative maintenance to addressing immediate repairs, creating a welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
Objectives of this role
- Maintain the operational efficiency and appearance of hotel facilities and grounds
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure guest satisfaction
- Ensure the hotel is compliant with all health and safety regulations
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment
- Work closely with the management team to identify and address repair needs
Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs and routine maintenance on hotel facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and carpentry
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as inspecting building systems (e.g., electrical, heating, ventilation) and addressing minor issues before they become larger problems
- Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Ensure that all hotel equipment and systems are functioning properly and safely
- Assist with maintaining the hotel’s exterior and landscaping to ensure a clean and welcoming environment
- Collaborate with housekeeping and other departments to address repairs and maintenance needs
- Document and report all maintenance tasks performed
Skills and qualifications
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with a background in general maintenance (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in hotel maintenance or a similar field
- Certification in relevant trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
