About the Role

As Senior Mechanical Technician, you will serve as the subject matter expert responsible for the safe, accurate assembly and testing of K-Winch products, which include diesel- and electrically-driven winches and masts. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring consistent product quality, supporting process improvements, and upholding high safety standards. You will lead by example, using and supervising proper use of hand and power tools, identifying and reporting defects or inefficiencies, and contributing innovative ideas to enhance assembly techniques. Active participation in safety initiatives and engineering discussions is expected to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures to assemble equipment.
  • Manufacture hydraulic systems, maintaining cleanliness and accuracy.
  • Detect and report defects in materials or equipment.
  • Support initiatives including on-time delivery, cost of quality, and schedule attainment.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workspace using 5S and LEAN principles.
  • Contribute to product and process innovation and machinery investment decisions.
  • Guide and support team members through training and mentorship.
  • Drive and implement continuous improvement ideas.
  • Participate in team briefings and contribute to problem resolution.
  • Ensure quality standards are consistently met and maintained.
  • Utilize engineering support systems for feedback and improvement suggestions.
  • Conduct FAT and product testing for K-Winch product lines.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet business needs.
  • Engage in training for skill development and career progression.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Time-served apprenticeship
  • NC in a relevant subject
  • Mechanical background within assembly and manufacturing environments
  • Proficient with hand and power tool
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
