The Royal Blind School, operated by Sight Scotland, is seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join our supply team in Edinburgh. This is a unique opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic educational environment, making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with vision impairment and additional complex needs.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support the educational, social, and emotional development of our pupils. You will assist in delivering personalised learning programmes and provide essential one-to-one and group support to ensure each learner can access the curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs. The role requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to promoting independence and confidence in every child.

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, resilient, and genuinely passionate about inclusive education. Experience of working in an educational or care setting is desirable, particularly with children or young people with additional support needs, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. An understanding of vision impairment or a willingness to learn is essential.

At the Royal Blind School, we are proud of our warm and collaborative school community. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes teachers and specialist staff, all working together to provide a rich and supportive learning environment. We offer ongoing professional development opportunities and a supportive workplace where your contributions are valued.

This is a supply position, offering excellent work-life balance and the chance to be part of one of Scotland’s leading providers of specialist education.

Join us in making a real difference to the lives of children and young people with vision impairment.
