Description

Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

Principal of School: Rob Southern

Outwood Academy Newbold is rated Good, with Outstanding leadership by Ofsted and we are based in the large, friendly, Derbyshire town of Chesterfield, near Derby and Sheffield.

We recognise a child’s time at school is irreplaceable and that education provides the bedrock for success in every area of life. This is why we take a holistic view to student development, placing equal value on vocational, practical, creative and academic ability.

Since joining the Outwood Family in 2015, we have been on a journey of transformation and improvement, which has seen our results improve, but more importantly we are delighted that after its latest inspection of the academy Ofsted noted that ‘parents, staff and pupils are positive about the changes that have been made to the school.’

We believe our success speaks for itself as we are above the national average for the number of students achieving at a Grade 5 or above in English & Maths GCSEs. We are also proud to have been awarded Gold Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.

Our knowledge-rich curriculum has something for everyone, with extra guidance for those requiring additional support and we do whatever it takes to help young people develop a sense of responsibility.

We believe we are on a journey to Outstanding. Help to take us to the next level.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

All academies within the Outwood Family have gained the IQM Inclusive Schools Award with 18 having Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status.

If you share our vision, join our family.

Required to start as soon as possible, we have an exciting opportunity and are looking to recruit two Teaching Assistants.  The successful candidates will work across the curriculum to support students with varying needs in mainstream lessons, as well as work with individual or small groups of students.  You will need to work flexibly as part of our Inclusion Team and have experience of working within a school environment.  You should have the ability to deal with vulnerable students.
