  • Location: Nacton, Ipswich, Suffolk IP10 0EU
  • Salary: £25,185 – £25,989 per annum pro rata, £13.05 - £13.47 per hour, Grade 3, point 4 - 6
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, 38 weeks per year. Monday – Friday: 8.45am – 3.15pm (30 minutes for lunch)
  • Contract: Permanent. Required as soon as possible.

Nacton Church of England Primary School are looking for a caring, passionate and reliable Teaching Assistant to join our mixed Reception and Year 1 class.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Support the delivery of the EYFS and year 1 curriculum within the classroom and outdoor learning spaces.
  • Assist in planning and preparing engaging learning activities tailored to early years pupils.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for children to explore and learn.
  • Help to assess children’s progress and report back to teachers and parents.
  • Encourage children’s social and emotional development through play and interaction.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure that the needs of all children are met effectively.
  • Administer paediatric first aid when necessary (training provided).
  • Assist with lunch time supervision either in the hall or on the playground.

 

Ideally you will have: 

  • recent, practical, school-based experience within an EYFS and/or Year 1 classroom
  • experience of planning and delivering phonics (we use Little Wandle)
  • high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
  • a positive attitude to every day
  • NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants would be desirable (or the equivalent experience)
