I have worked a customer fa ing role since 1986, when I joined The Black Country Living Museum as a Gardener/Groundskeeper, later taking on role of events coordinator and leading on their events programme till 2020 when I was made redundant. I was able to obtain a temporary contract with Smyth’s toyshop in walsall for 3 months at the end of Covid. I was then able to join Dudley Canal and Caverns as a trip boat Skipper, obtaining a Maritime and coastguard boat Skipper license. I was in this role for 10 months, when I moved internally to the Role of commercial manager. I managed a gift shop and cafe including staff and ensuring stock control and staff rotas, hitting budget targets and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
