About
I am applying for this role as I am passionate about helping others, which I am aware is the most important focus within the organisation and the NHS who are persistently striving to better the care patients receive. I am a hardworking, determined and passionate individual who will be well suited to the call assessor job role. My utmost dedication and ambition is another reason why I should be considered. I will make a positive contribution within the workplace because of my willingness to actively participate in different activities. I also have the desire to help others which will allow me to improve a range of skills such as communication and social skills and I feel that I will be a great addition to DHU Healthcare. I am currently working as an escort for SEND kids with Castle Cars Dudley, in this role I work with children who require assistance on their journey to school with Castle Car’s drivers. It requires me to be patient and resilient as I need to behave in a compassionate manner and provide understanding of their individual situations.
It also requires team work as I liase with the drivers in a professional manner, in particular when dealing with children in wheelchairs who need further assistance entering and exiting the vehicle. I may also be required to communicate with management at times when being assigned a new client to cover team members who are suddenly unavailable.
I also work part time as an Administrator with a company called Precious Lashes. I am responsible for all administrative tasks which includes responding to clients on a variety of virtual platforms as well as over the phone to arrange and discuss appointments. I ensure everything is done in a timely manner to avoid clients waiting longer than necessary and to be available for my commitments to Castle Cars.
My roles at both these jobs have helped me develop a variety of different skill sets. Working with children requires a lot of patience and the ability to empathise with their feelings and needs and being able to deal with conflict appropriately is deeply relevant as there is more often than not an issue which will require mediation. Whereas being a secretary to a lash technician requires me to be time efficient and be able to build rapport with customers thus improving on my customer service skills.
As part of working for CPM, there were various roles I was able to complete at different ASDA stores. Whilst working here, I was able to work in a close and tight-knit team which I was able to contribute to and essentially, help ASDA with its continued success in store. I also had the opportunity to communicate with customers from different backgrounds and adapt my approach as necessary, for example if they were elderly. This has enabled me to develop a valuable skillset even further, including maintaining a positive and friendly approach throughout busy shopping hours. My work experience role as a librarian at Halesowen College allowed me to build upon a number of skills but most importantly, communication and good listening. Communication and good listening were both key for the role of a librarian because I needed to be professional, sharp and clear. I was able to communicate to students very confidently face-to-face and over the phone and I now hope I will be able to use this skill of customer service and communication to apply it to this job role. I have communicated with various individuals on the telephone and have developed a professional telephone manner, as demonstrated at my time at City Cars as a call handler as well as my other experience, making me a clear communicator. Similarly, I have had to enter data electronically using computers in numerous job roles. This has enabled me to be confident in navigating computer programs accurately. In addition to this, my previous experience with computers will allow the proficient use of Microsoft office programmes, including Word and Excel, giving me the ability to input, monitor and print using computerised systems.
I have previously studied Accounting and Finance at university level. The knowledge I have gained from the subject at both college and university will be advantageous in fulfilling this job role. Studying these subjects has allowed me to gain and improve a host of skills including decision making, critical thinking and analytical skills. I am familiar with working under pressure to meet strict deadlines, and managing my time effectively in order to achieve this.
With all these skills combined, I believe I have the capability of carrying out this role to the best of my ability.
