Hey - I’m Jaysen. I run The Corporate Law Academy or ‘TCLA’. It's the largest forum in the legal profession.
At school and university, you’re taught theory. But the legal profession demands more: clear communication, commercial awareness, and a practical understanding of how the business world works.
We’re building the Khan Academy for the working world—a platform that bridges the gap between education and career. TCLA already helps thousands of future lawyers to secure training contracts into top law firms, and now we’re doubling down on content to reach even more.
We have really big goals at TCLA. And while we're a startup, we want to 'build in public' and let our community join us on the journey.
That's where you come in.
We're looking for a Video & Social Content Creator to join us 1 day a week in person (Canary Wharf) and 1 day a week remotely to edit and strategise content. You'll film us teaching financial concepts for YouTube and social media. You'll also film behind-the-scenes of us building the business, and manage our Instagram and LinkedIn pages. You'll then work remotely to edit the content, brainstorm and plan.
The role is perfect for an aspiring lawyer with a passion for good video. You see yourself as someone with a clear understanding of what kind of video content clicks with an audience and you're keen to be given a platform to learn fast.
We already have a big social media following, too, with over 140,000 followers on social media. We need your help getting this to 1M!
Key responsibilities:
- Join us in the Canary Wharf office one day a week and work from home one day a week
- Brainstorm, record and edit short- and long-form videos for platforms like YouTube, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, and TikTok
- Own the filming setup (tripods, mics, lighting) so our team can focus on showing up and teaching—you handle the rest
- Plan and pitch ideas for social-first content that’s educational, engaging, and fun
- Incorporate feedback and revisions
An interest in start-ups and a presenting an authentic story of the behind-the-scenes A passion for video content and storytelling, particularly on social media An understanding of camera operation, lighting and audio You already edit videos for fun or freelance—CapCut, Final Cut, Premiere Pro, or anything you like You’re excited to help thousands of students learn in public You have written communication, organisation and attention to detail skills You have the ability to work to weekly deadlines and targets You want creative ownership and the chance to grow with a startup
We work hard because we care about having a lasting impact. It’s fun to create something that never existed before – and you’ll be front and centre. You’ll be pushed outside your comfort zone, but for the right person, this is so worthwhile.
The more you want to get involved, the more opportunities there will be. We’re curious and constantly learning, and we’ll give you the tools to support your self improvement goals.
You’ll be in an environment where you’re appreciated and valued. Our most common feedback is the best part of working for TCLA is the team. We work hard, care about what we do and care about each other.
Finally, we pride ourselves on being kind and authentic. We’ll bend over backwards to make sure you are supported when you need to take time off.
