The role of the National IT Specialist is to focus on IT operation stability and performance whilst adhering to IT industry best practices and providing the best possible customer service.
The National IT Specialist will oversee the assigned incidents, requests, problems and deployments efficiently and accurately, and achieve compliance with all internal and external guidelines and regulations, particularly the ALDI IT governance whilst contributing to a cooperative working environment.

Your New Role
- Determines the priority of support cases according to business impact
- Create and coordinate project deployment plans
- Determines the priority of deployment tasks according to the impact to the project plan
- Advises international partners on any identified patterns of reoccurring IT incidents and problems emerging in GB/IE.
- Test new IT hardware and software and work alongside ALDI DX to introduce them into the GB/IE estate.
- Works with key business stakeholders to ensure the smooth rollout of new applications or hardware.
- Works with external third parties to ensure applications and hardware are working optimally in the ALDI estate.
- Provides second level remote and onsite support through tickets assigned in Service NOW.
- Purchases and manages stock of IT hardware
- Coordinates and directs contractors, vendors and suppliers as required to ensure business stability and peak performance is always achieved.
- Tests hardware and program updates to verify successful operation before rolling out at the business.
- Carries out hardware installation under the guidance of the central IT team
- Responsible for installation of VC equipment and meeting room IT equipment
- Responsible for ALDI’s VOIP telephony solution, in National Offices, Regions and Stores.
- Assists with trouble shooting of IT hardware
- Coordinates downtime at the locations allocated in preparation for IT maintenance works
- Oversees upgrade rollouts at the locations allocated and triages problems
- Takes on ownership of major incidents or ongoing problems and drives resolution in problematic areas whilst keeping management involved.
- Ensures deadlines and SLAs are complied with in area of responsibility
- Ensures compliance with ALDI policies, legal obligations and regulatory standards
- Checks and processes invoices for the area of responsibility following company procedures
- Maintains assets, warranty, repair, license and any other IT controls as required
- Works in accordance with the ALDI GB & IE code of conduct
About You
- Previous IT experience
- Experience using VOIP
- Experience with Hardware/Software deployment
- Experience delivering video conferencing solutions
- Have excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills
- Be able to work independently or as part of a team
- Prior helpdesk experience
- Knowledge of IT hardware

- Salary starting £36,765 rising to £53,200
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working (after passing 3 month probation)
