Salary: £63,200 - £65,000 dependant on experience

As anIT Testing Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our transformation journey at Bupa Cromwell Hospital. You’ll lead a team of testers to ensure that every change to our clinical and non-clinical systems is safe, effective, and aligned with our commitment to quality care. From new software rollouts to system upgrades, your work will directly impact the experience of our patients and staff – helping us deliver better health outcomes through technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the testing team across multiple projects and system changes.
- Develop test strategies, plans, scripts, and reports for clinical and non-clinical systems.
- Ensure all software changes are thoroughly tested and meet quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with technical teams, third-party suppliers, and end users to coordinate testing activities.
- Oversee the full testing lifecycle – from requirements gathering to defect resolution and final reporting.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide guidance on test script creation.
- Maintain test environments and ensure readiness for test execution.
- Provide accurate estimates for testing activities and contribute to project planning.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and risk awareness within the testing team.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about quality, detail-oriented, and confident leading a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Essential:
- Experience leading testing teams in healthcare or similarly regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies (Agile, V-Model, Waterfall).
- Proven ability to create and execute test plans, scripts, and formal test reports.
- Experience with defect management systems and test repositories.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems and workflows.
Desirable:
- Experience with integration engines and healthcare-specific applications.
- Familiarity with risk management and compliance in IT environments.
- Knowledge of automation tools and modern testing technologies.
