We’re working with a respected charity partner to recruit an Experienced Social Worker for a 30-hour per week fixed-term position within a specialist service based in South East London. This is an opportunity to join a team delivering targeted support to individuals with multiple and complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health challenges, safeguarding concerns, and social care involvement.

Key Details:
- Location: South East London
- Hours: 30 hours per week
- Salary: £37,184.90 – £44,471.72 (pro rata, depending on experience)
- Additional Allowance: Inner London weighting (pro rata)
- Contract Type: Fixed-term until 31st March 2026
Role Overview:
As a senior practitioner in the team, you will support the management of complex cases and provide specialist input on safeguarding, domestic abuse, self-neglect, and multi-agency coordination. You’ll also mentor and develop team members, contribute to reflective practice, and support service development initiatives.
Main responsibilities:
- Hold a small, focused caseload of service users with complex needs
- Provide specialist advice on risk, safeguarding (adults and children), and multi-agency liaison
- Deliver workshops, learning sessions, and reflective supervision for team members
- Develop strong partnerships with local social care and statutory agencies
- Contribute to training and support for student social workers and those completing their ASYE
- Maintain high standards in case recording, reporting, and information sharing
Candidate Requirements:
- Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
- Strong safeguarding experience (across adults and/or children’s services)
- Proven experience working with complex and high-risk caseloads
- Knowledge of substance misuse, mental health, and domestic abuse
- Confident in delivering supervision, coaching, or training
- Collaborative, reflective, and strong on communication
