Job Title: Mental Health Social Worker

Job Description:
Liquid Personnel is looking for a capable and experienced Mental Health Social Worker to join the Adult Mental Health Team for our client at Slough.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Mental Health Assessments: Undertake thorough assessments of individuals’ mental health and social care needs, using a strengths-based and risk-informed approach.
- Care and Support Planning: Develop and implement personalised support plans that align with recovery goals and legal duties.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond effectively to mental health crises, including carrying out risk assessments and initiating safeguarding measures when necessary.
- Mental Health Act Duties: Where appropriate, carry out duties under the Mental Health Act, including participation in Mental Health Tribunals and Section 117 aftercare planning.
- Multi-disciplinary Working: Collaborate with Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), psychiatrists, GPs, housing providers and other professionals to ensure coordinated, person-centred care.
- Safeguarding: Identify safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action, including making referrals and contributing to enquiries.
- Mental Capacity Assessments: Complete assessments of mental capacity and participate in Best Interests decision-making as required.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Professional Qualification: A recognised qualification in social work (MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW).
- Registration: Registered with Social Work England.
- Experience: At least one year of post-qualification experience in a mental health setting.
- Knowledge of Legislation: Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended in 2007), the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Care Act 2014.
- Skills: Excellent communication, assessment, and risk management skills; comfortable working under pressure.
- Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for community-based work
