As a Product Manager for Recommendations, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how millions of people find the right products at the right time through the power of data, AI, and machine learning.
You’ll own and deliver core ML/AI and data science-powered capabilities that drive product discovery through relevant, personalised recommendations. Working as part of the Discovery & Personalisation product team, you’ll partner closely with the Search domain to help customers find and build their baskets across all Tesco markets and verticals.
You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end strategy, vision, and development of our recommendation services (APIs) and associated customer experiences—always with a focus on measurable impact to our customers and the business
- Define, build, and continuously improve scalable, low-latency recommendation services.
- Tune algorithmic parameters to optimise relevance, coverage, and performance using key metrics and OKRs.
- Own and prioritise a data-driven product backlog to enhance recommendations across diverse Tesco customer touchpoints.
- Lead cross-functional planning for recommendations: shaping strategy, capturing business needs, and ensuring alignment with wider business units.
- Collaborate with Engineers, Data Scientists, and other Product Managers to deliver the roadmap using agile methodologies.
- Act as a champion for the customer in every decision—driving clarity, resolving blockers, and shaping intuitive experiences.
- Analytical, methodical mindset and a knack for solving complex problems
- Proven ability to manage trade-offs, make thoughtful decisions, and prioritise effectively
- Empathy for users and a desire to deeply understand their needs and challenges
- Experience with Agile practices, including writing user stories and defining acceptance criteria
- Familiarity with user research, design thinking, and experimentation-led product development
