Kitchen Assistant

About us;

Nestled in the heart of the lovely market town of Chipping Norton lies The Blue Boar. A stunning pub dating from the 17th century offering a 'best of British' seasonal menu alongside a range of premium old & new world wines, international lagers, well-conditioned ales and fantastic personal service from our small, friendly team. We're a busy pub serving great food every day and have a busy bar serving locals and visitors alike. Our Kitchen Assistants play an important role in the kitchen, assisting our Chefs in food preparation & ensuring our kitchen is clean, tidy & organised at all times. This is a minimum of 30hrs per week & can include weekends. Applicants should be able to work flexible shifts including lunch & dinner.

What we look for in a Kitchen Assistant;

We are looking for an existing Kitchen Assistant or an individual looking for their next step to their hospitality career, who considers themselves to have a passion to work within a reliable team that delivers high quality standards. We need hard-working and dedicated people behind the scenes to help our lovely pub run smoothly and to ensure that it's always clean and tidy. As the successful Kitchen Porter you will:

  • Be an active hands-on person with a passion to work hard as part of a team
  • Have high standards and a great work ethic
  • You will show willingness to learn new skills, be an active team player with excellent communication skills
  • Be working alongside your kitchen team and will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to deliver top quality service
  • Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills to complete day to day tasks
  • Able to work weekends as required
