Seasonal Catering Assistant

Location: Otley Garden Centre

Vacancies: 2 roles available!

Employment Type: Seasonal / Temporary until the end of the Christmas period.

However, there’s the possibility of the contract becoming permanent dependent on business needs.

Shift pattern & hours:

• Role 1 = an average of 18.5 hours per week, Friday, Saturday & Sundays

• Role 2 = 6.5 Hours, every Saturday 9am – 4pm

We’re on the lookout for a friendly, reliable, and hard-working Catering Assistant to join our Blooms Team in our newly refurbished café & restaurant!

Whether you’re serving up flat whites, chatting with regulars, or keeping the café spotless and running smoothly — you’ll be an essential part of what makes our place so special.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Welcoming customers with a smile and taking food & drink orders clearly and cheerfully

• Serving food and drinks promptly and professionally – always with a personal touch

• Prepping the café before and after service – think cleaning, restocking, and resetting

• Learning the menu inside and out so you can answer customer questions with confidence

• Making hot and cold drinks to order (don’t worry, we’ll train you!)

• Handling payments, bills, and till operations accurately

• Responding to customer feedback in a positive, helpful way and reporting issues to your manager

• Following hygiene, allergen, food safety, and health & safety guidelines at all times

• Supporting your team, pitching in wherever needed, and keeping things running smoothly

• Attending team meetings and training sessions so you’re always learning and improving

What We’re Looking For:

• A positive attitude and genuine enjoyment of working with people

• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication skills and a real team-player mindset

• A willingness to learn and follow safety and hygiene procedures

• Hospitality experience is great, but not essential — we’ll provide full training
