A Primary School in the BS6 area of Bristol are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their year 1 class to support with Phonics interventions. 


 

This 2 form entry school holds high standards towards inclusion, ensuring all pupils feel happy and safe in their learning environment. You will be joining a team of strong and supportive staff members dedicated to providing a curriculum that prepares children for their next stage.


 

The Role 


 

The school is looking for someone to join ASAP. Ideally they are looking for someone with prior experience in a Reception or Year 1 class who has a clear understanding of Phonics. 

Ideally the KS1 lead is looking for someone with past experience working with Little Wandle Phonics scheme but it is not a necessity. 


 

The successful candidate will be working closely with the Class Teacher to support whole class teaching and 1:1 support - interventions and with SEND children.


 

You will be expected to: 

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to develop activities. 
  • Have high expectations for the individual to succeed. 
  • Create a safe environment for the pupil to learn at their own pace. 
  • Manage and support the child’s needs. 
  • Be adaptable with the learning opportunities.
