Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Qualified Social Worker to join its client’s Children in Care (CIC) team based in Wakefield.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will,
- Preventative Work: Your task is to undertake preventative measures with service users to mitigate safeguarding concerns. This includes investigating significant harm concerns and utilizing legislation effectively to ensure the welfare of service users.
- Social Work Service: You are expected to deliver a Social Work service to individuals, their families, and carers. This involves assessing their needs and addressing them through direct therapeutic work, care planning, and management. The role necessitates the integration of theoretical approaches with practice.
- Caseload Management: The role involves managing a caseload, making complex decisions in accordance with professional criteria, and ensuring that casework is appropriately planned, critically evaluated, and reviewed. You will engage effectively with increasingly complex and challenging situations, including multi-agency input, complex family dynamics, multiple problems/disadvantages, multiple significant risk factors, and public interest considerations.
- Care Provision: You are required to ensure appropriate care for service users by optimally utilizing existing mainstream and specialist resources and demonstrating innovation where appropriate. This includes taking responsibility for and supervising service users who receive care services and conducting expert and robust reviews of such cases.
- Expert Witness Role: Your role also involves serving as an expert witness and providing evidence to courts and other relevant bodies as required. This includes presenting reports and applications for appropriate Legal Orders in court proceedings. You will collaborate with other agencies and organizations to deliver a Social Work service, representing the organization’s perspective.
- Multi-disciplinary Contributions: Lastly, you will contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments, lead meetings when required, and participate in planning meetings and reviews. This includes mentoring newly qualified and less experienced Social Workers to develop their expertise and/or offering placements to Social Work students as a practice educator. You will need to manage your own challenging and demanding caseload, seeking support as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have:
• Social Work England registration
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• A full UK driving licence
• Post-qualified experience
• Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
