The Role:
As an Intelligence Systems Developer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development and maintenance of our Customer Relationship Management system Arcus Global (a Salesforce-based solution) alongside managing other technical platforms which underpin service delivery. By working closely with operational teams across the service, you will gather system requirements, design system changes and build system solutions to ensure that our technical platforms best meet the needs of operational users and strategic decision makers.
Alongside your work in shaping our central system, you will also lead the deployment of other technical solutions by evaluating opportunities to enhance service delivery through technology, including Office365 applications such as MS Power Apps, MS Forms, MS Power Automate and more. This role will also involve assisting with the management of specialist software packages and will oversee the management of our SharePoint site to ensure that service data adheres to confidentiality and security requirements. As subject matter expert for technology-based service improvements, this role will also support the training and development of operational staff to ensure that they are able to make the most of new technologies and new ways of working.
Trading Standards work on behalf of several government bodies to support the compliance and regulation of laws developed to keep people safe and businesses trading fairly. These laws cover a variety of areas, including Animal Health (eg. disease management), Animal Feed (eg. ensuring food remains safe from farm to fork), Product Safety (eg. testing products for safe use), Fair Trading (eg. investigating scams), Food Safety (eg. testing food samples) and more. Your work in developing the technical systems which support this work will enable the efficient and effective delivery of these critical regulatory areas.
If you have an interest in systems design and development, particularly in improving real-world processes through the use of technology, then we would like to hear from you.
